This yearly celebration informs the public on the dangers of using tobacco, the business practices of tobacco companies, what WHO is doing to fight the tobacco epidemic, and what people around the world can do to claim their right to health and healthy living and to protect future generations.

International day of action for women's health - 28 May 2017

May 28 is the International Day of Action for Women’s Health declared in 1987 during a reunion of members of Women's Global Network for Reproductive Rights in Costa Rica. Since then, May 28 has been internationally renowned and activities are held worldwide by women’s and health groups. It is a great opportunity to remind the government leaders that Women’s Health Matters.

World Asthma Day - 3 May 2017

World Asthma Day is an annual event organized by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) to improve asthma awareness and care around the world on 3 May every year. Asthma is a chronic disease of the air passages (or bronchial) that lead to and from the lungs that makes breathing difficult. Usually there is inflammation, which results in a temporary narrowing of the passages that carry oxygen to the lungs.
